When was Richmond Valley Council formed?

Richmond Valley Council was formed in February 2000 following the amalgamation of the former Richmond River Shire and Casino Councils.

Council general elections were held in September 2008, a by-election in 2009 and a general election again in September 2012.

Where are the Council Chambers and when are meetings held?

The Council Chambers are at the corner of Walker Street and Graham Place, Casino. The entrance is in Graham Place.
Council meetings are held generally on the third Tuesday of each month at 4.30pm. Members of the public are welcome to view meetings from the gallery.
Business papers are released generally a week in advance of an upcoming meeting. To view business papers and minutes of previous meetings, visit the Council Meetings page.

Where can I find Council plans and reports?

Council is required to provide a series of reports to the community regarding its finances, initiatives and operations.

Where can I pay accounts?

Accounts and rates can be paid at the Casino and Evans Head Administration Offices, or pay online using Australia Post's online payment facility.

Where is the Mayor's office?

The Mayor's office is in the Casino Administration Office.
The Mayor  and any Councillors can also be contacted via the personal contact details listed on their Councillor pages.

Where is the Neighbourhood Centre?

There are two Neighbourhood Centres servicing the Richmond Valley. Casino services Casino and surrounds communities while the Mid-Richmond Neighbourhood Centre services all mid to lower rivers communities including Coraki, Broadwater, Woodburn and Evans Head.
