Recycle Right in Richmond Valley
Richmond Valley Council has launched a new fortnightly recycling service for existing household garbage customers in the Richmond Valley area. From 1st February 2010 in Casino and surrounds, and 8th February 2010 in Evans Head, Broadwater, Woodburn and Coraki, residents can now recycle easily and practically at home by placing recyclables into their new yellow-lidded recycling bin.
Materials which should now only go into the yellow-lidded recycling bin include:
- Newspapers, cardboard, magazines and office paper,
- Glass bottles and jars,
- Aluminium and steel cans, including all aerosol cans, and steel lids
- Plastics containers – milk, juice, shampoo, water bottles etc (NO plastic bags).
Materials which should not go into your recycling bin include:
- NO Nappies
- NO Plastic bags
- NO Food scraps or containers with food still inside
- NO Pyrex, broken window glass or broken crockery
Residents are asked to place their recycling bin out fortnightly, and their garbage bin out weekly the night before the usual day of service.
Contact Council's Garbage Request Line on 02 6660 0350 for information and guidance to residents of Richmond Valley Council.
