Independent panel approves NRLX upgrade
It will be full steam ahead for Richmond Valley Council’s $7 million Northern Rivers Livestock Exchange (NRLX) upgrade following approval by the independent Northern Joint Regional Planning Panel (JRPP). The JRPP, made up of Chair Garry West, State Members Pamela Westing and Stephen Gow, and Kyogle Council’s Director Planning and Environment Manfred Boldy, met in Casino to discuss the development application and considered views expressed by the local community. As with all development applications received by Council, the NRLX proposal underwent a full professional and technical assessment to ensure it met relevant NSW Government legislation and planning controls. The JRPP had the benefit of a comprehensive assessment report and peer review, along with copies of all submissions, and was well versed with the proposal. JRPP members also inspected the site before the meeting.
