2016 Local Government Elections

Pre polling centres now open

Pre polling for the Local Government Elections is underway. Below are times and places people can vote early:

  • Casino Community and Cultural Centre, 35 Walker Street, from Monday 29 August until Friday 9 September. Mon- Fri 8.30am-5.30pm, Sat 9am-5pm. Closed Sunday;
  • The Lismore Region Returning Officer's Office, 146-148 Molesworth Street, from Monday 29 August until Friday 9 September. Mon- Fri 8.30am-5.30pm, Sat 9am-6pm. Closed Sunday; and
  • Mid Richmond residents can pre poll at Richmond Valley Council’s Evans Head office, 19-25 Woodburn Street, Thursday 8 September and Friday 9 September between 8.30am and 4.30pm.

Polling day is Saturday 10 September, and residents can vote at any one of the following polling places

  • Broadwater Community Hall, Little Pitt Street. Assisted access, no designated accessible parking spot. Path of travel from car park may be difficult.
  • Casino Christian School, 93 Manifold Road. Does not meet accessibility requirements for electors with disabilities.
  • Casino Community and Cultural Centre, 35 Walker Street. Fully wheelchair accessible.
  • Casino High School, 90 Queensland Road. Assisted access. No designated accessible parking spot.
  • Casino West Public School, 84a Hotham Street. Assisted access. No designated accessible parking spot. No accessible toilet.
  • Coraki Public School, 50 Adams Street. Assisted access. No designated accessible parking spot. No accessible toilet.
  • Evans River Community School, Cypress Street. Assisted access. No designated accessible parking spot.
  • Rappville Community Hall, 14 Murray Street. Assisted access. No designated accessible parking spot. No accessible toilet. Path of travel from car park may be difficult.
  • St Michael's Centre, Centre Street Casino. Does not meet accessibility requirements for electors with disabilities.
  • Woodburn CWA Rooms, River Street. Assisted access. Building has lips and/or steps. No designated accessible parking spot. No accessible toilet.
