Australia Day 2013 in Evans Head

Richmond Valley residents will be celebrating next Australia Day, Saturday 26th January, waterside in Evans Head. A programme packed with fun family activities is planned which will include games on the river and in the sea, as well as music and festivities for all ages by the beach.

"Evans Head will be celebrating its unique location by the river and the ocean with an exciting day planned for the whole family and entertainment for all ages. In addition to recognising the outstanding individual and group community contributions in the Richmond Valley region through the Citizen Awards, we will also welcome residents undertaking their Australian Citizenship ceremony" said John Walker, General Manager, Richmond Valley Council.

Volunteers are being sought to help with these activities and there was a meeting at Evans Head Bowls Club on Monday 6 August 2012 to canvass potential supporters.
