Change for the Better - Special Rate Variation
Richmond Valley Council is proposing a special rate variation to increase services and make the Richmond Valley area even better. This comes after the development of the Community Strategic Plan, which outlined your priorities and highlighted your desire for better services and facilities.
Rates increase every year in line with the “rate cap” set by the NSW Government. We propose a special rate variation, in addition to the rate cap, so we can increase services and stay financially viable into the long term.
As part of our community consultation, the current four-year Delivery Program and Long Term Financial Plan have been revised and at an extraordinary Council meeting on 3 January Council endorsed the revised plan to go on exhibition until 31 January 2014. Please note: the exhibition period for the draft amended Delivery Program has now closed.
At Council's ordinary meeting on 18 February 2014, the Delivery Program and Financial Estimates, plus the Long Term Financial Estimates were amended to include Special Rate Variation projects and adopted for submission to IPART.
