LandCare
Expressions of Interest for LandCare Group
Council is calling for expressions of interest from the community to form their own LandCare or CoastCare group in Evans Head.
CoastCare and LandCare are community volunteers caring for their Local environment. CoastCare and LandCare volunteers identify local environmental problems and work together to achieve practical solutions. CoastCare and LandCare groups tackle problems like dune erosion, loss of native plants and animals, storm water pollution, weeds and control of human access to sensitive areas.
The CoastCare and LandCare program provides opportunities for governments, community, business and interest groups to become actively involved in on ground works to protect and manage our coastal and marine environments.
Community groups interested in carrying out CoastCare and LandCare activities can seek funds for up to $50,000 from the Caring For Our Country Program to support local on ground projects.
Council with the Northern Rivers CMA and Richmond LandCare Services Community Support Officer will conduct Community Information Session which will provide information, on registration and training and funding opportunities.
